Wanted: Meatheads.

The summer came and went and with it left the first generation of the Meatheads. The Muse-ic show went off without a hitch. This being the Interns final project, they left with the setting sun. Muse-ic will be up for another couple of weeks so be sure to catch a glimpse of this great show.
At Fresh Produce headquarters we were sad to see our interns go, but you know what they say: "When one meathead goes on to slice, sear and singe their way to a career, they leave a void to be filled".
In short, the internship was a success. So much so that we are already thinking about next year. This is where we charge you. Keep and eye out for potential Meatheads that fit the bill. Fresh Produce will begin taking applications in January of "oh ten" for next summer. Don't miss the opportunity to be famous.

The Work: Envive event promotion

To coincide with the current "en" based campaign for Envive, we created "enform" as the brand for a lecture series sponsored by Envive. The first event in the series will feature Dr. Christine Horner, who will speak on natural ways to prevent breast cancer and other chronic illness.

The Work: Click Rain collateral piece

Believe it or not, Famous for Meats did more this summer than organize the Muse-ic show and take sweet photos with a box of meat. We were privileged to work with a variety of clients outside of Fresh Produce. One of those clients is Click Rain - a group of online marketing gurus.

We were commissioned to create a new, vibrant collateral piece to jive with the gang's new website (launch date TBD). The focal point of the piece focuses on Click Rain's online marketing specializations.

We created a piece that escapes the 8 1/2 by 11-inch collateral piece mold. The disc is six inches in diameter and invites prospective clients to interact with the piece, by turning it over and in circles to learn more about Click Rain's business.

FFM team ready to push play on "Muse-ic" this Friday.

Muse-ic: Creating an art show.

See what happens when local musicians play muse to local visual artists.

One of our final projects for my Job this summer was to concept, plan, organize, and promote an art show and the gallery opening associated with it. My fellow Meatheads and I have been hounding thrift stores, begging for donations, and rushing to the printer all in the name of art. The concept is based in Kandinsky's paint to music. We thought, why not take that idea and charge local artists with the task of being inspired by a song written and recorded by a local musician? And why just Painters? We contacted Drawers, Painters, Illustrators, Sculptors, and Installation artists, and told them to plug in and create. Muse-ic is rooted in the constant dialogue between visual arts and music.

With the concept set and artists working, the Meatheads turned their attention to the promotion and the logistics of the opening. We made each artist place their finger on one specific track that they drew their inspiration from. This track will then be transfered onto a cassette tape and hung next to the piece with a retro tape player. You will be able to stand in front of the piece, put on head phones, and listen to the inspiration for what your are looking at. For the promotion, we wanted a look that would jump off a bulletin board and/or screen. The Muse-ic look really came from our collective love for the gig poster style and the desire to have the overall look catch eyes. What catches eyes more than flying Manta Rays invading Sioux Falls? We went with a digitally printed poster and a 4/4 postcard. Then a mass amount of copy paper gig flyers that will plaster the town. We embraced the idea of a postcard and pushed it to be just that.

Copy is very soccer mom-esque -- built to look just like a postcard.
"You will never believe this. It was your great idea to take our family vacation to Sioux Falls. Although the first day was nearly perfect, we had to deal with this (see front side) on the second day. An invasion of flying, bombing, screeching Manta Rays! They gobbled bystanders, tormented us with their stingy tails, and dropped paratrooper jellyfish. Oh the humanity!

We still managed to have a pleasant float down the Big Sioux despite all the hullabaloo. Let’s just say we got more than a sunburn!

Anyway, I saw this poster and heard some hear-say for a gallery opening and thought of you. I know that you will be around in early August so I am passing along the info.
Thanks for the tip on lovely Sioux Falls, enjoy the Ipso Gallery.

The McClay Family"

By far the most fun was had on the poster. Keep an eye out for these babies around town and pick up one of the 5-color screen prints at the opening on August 7.

We will see you next week and feel free to repost and retweet.

Stay coolish.
